What is the best time to fly in the Yarra Valley and Melbourne?

Autumn (March to May) offers crisp mornings, stable flying conditions and spectacular vineyard colours, making it one of the best times of year for a sunrise balloon flight.

How far is the Yarra Valley from Melbourne?

The Yarra Valley is approximately 50 minutes’ drive from Melbourne CBD, making it an easy early-morning escape. Return transfers are available, with pick-up and drop-off at Pullman on the Park hotel for a seamless experience.

Melbourne flights depart from Pullman Melbourne on the Park – arrange a staycation or meet there in the morning.

What happens if the weather is unsuitable?

Your safety is our priority. Hot air balloon flights are weather dependent, and if conditions are not suitable, you may reschedule to another day at no extra cost within the booking validity as detailed on your booking details or request a refund.

What should I wear for an autumn flight?

Dress in comfortable layers and closed-toe shoes. Autumn mornings can be cool, but temperatures warm up quickly after sunrise.

Can I purchase a gift voucher?

Yes, gift vouchers are available and can be redeemed for flights on any date, giving the recipient the flexibility to choose when they fly.

Terms & Conditions

In the case of your flight being cancelled due to weather, you will have 12mths to rebook or can request a refund.
This package is refundable less a $25 admin fee per refund within the first 6 months. No refunds will be given for bookings held in our system longer than 6 months.

Valid for new bookings only.
This package is transferrable to other passengers.
Not valid in conjunction with any other discount, accommodation/tour package, special offer or for private flights
If you’d like to cancel or move your booked flight date, please do so prior to 7 days before. Cancellations within 7 days and 48hrs of the flight date incur a $50pp fee. There are no cancellations within 48hrs of the flight.

Weather

All balloon flights are weather dependent as we need to ensure it is safe to fly you based on the conditions. This will be determined by your pilot.

Please download our mobile app & input your booking details to receive the latest weather update from our pilot.

The night before your flight before 6pm, you’ll receive a notification confirming whether we can fly you based on the weather conditions and confirming the exact meeting time. You will be able to check-in for your flight and fill out the waiver on the app the night before.
