The skies above Sunraysia will come alive in a spectacular display of colour and flight this winter, as Global Ballooning Australia returns as the official commercial flight operator for the 2026 Balloons Over Mildura festival.
Marking the next chapter in Mildura’s rich ballooning history and building on the success of the 2024 Big Balloon Bash, the 2026 festival promises an even more spectacular celebration of ballooning with up to 30 balloons filling the sky during the event period.
Visitors can look forward to a breathtaking display of hot air balloons soaring through Mildura’s picturesque landscapes while participating in thrilling competitions. The event is free for spectators, though the best view is, of course, from a balloon.
While the festival runs from 4–12 July 2026, Global Ballooning will be operating sunrise and afternoon flights across the full Victorian school holiday period, 27 June – 12 July. Pre-event flights (27 June – 3 July) offer a quieter, more serene experience.
Guests will drift silently above the Murray River, vineyards, and golden plains at sunrise, or float gently in an afternoon flight, taking in Mildura from a truly unique perspective.
On 4 July, the Night Glow event will see more than 20 balloons illuminate to music, creating a magical evening along the riverfront.
